Part is cleaned and deburred. No surface finishes are applied.
A Type II anodize. Provides increased corrosion resistance and is used as a base for paint and other finishes. Can Darken the part slightly. Thickness ranges from .0002”- .0012”. Will conform to MIL-DTL-5541
Anodize, Black & Color
A Type II anodize. Provides increased corrosion resistance and can be used as a base for paint and other finishes. Please provide color preference in ‘Notes’ section. Thickness ranges from .0002”-.0012”. Will conform to MIL-DTL-5541
Type III. A thicker layer of standard anodizing, making it more durable. Can be used as a base for paint and other finishes. Include color choice in ‘Notes’ section. Colors tend to come out slightly dark due to thickness. Thickness is generally 0.002". Will conform to MIL-DTL-5541
Part is cleaned, deburred, and placed in an abrasive blaster where surface deposits are removed by applying fine glass beads at high pressure, without damaging the surface. Finish is matte.
Chem Film (Chromate Conversion Coating)
Provides corrosion resistance and good conductivity properties. Can be used as a base for paint. Can leave surface yellow/gold. Adds very little thickness, about 0.00001”-0.00004”. Chem film will conform to MIL-DTL-5541.
Electroless Nickel Plating
Provides uniform nickel coating which offers protection from corrosion, oxidation, and wear on irregular surfaces. The finished part will be brighter. Thickness starts at .0001”. Conforms to MIL-C-26074.
An electrochemical process cleans steel parts to reduce corrosion and improve appearance, by making the metal brighter. Removes about 0.0001”-0.0025” of the metal. Conforms to ASTM B912.
Heat treatment of metal parts to provide improved material properties. Includes Rockwell heat treatment, annealing, and other heat treatments. Specify treatment required in the 'Notes' section, or an attached drawing. Conforms to ASTM B917.
Improves corrosion resistance for 200, 300, and 400 series and precipitation hardened corrosion-resistant steels. Thickness is negligable, about .0000001”. Conforms to ASTM A967.
Gold Plating provides good corrosion and tarnish resistance. Gold has low contact resistance, with excellent conductivity and solderability. Makes part appear like gold. Thickness is about .00002”-.0003”. Conforms to MIL-G-45204.
Electroplating of silver provides good corrosion resistance but easily tarnishes. Silver offers high solderability and electrical conductivity. Makes part appear like silver. Thickness is about .00002”-.0003”. Conforms to QQ-S-365.
Provides a continuous, protective color finish on parts using an evenly applied, heat-cured paint. Include color choice in ‘Notes’ section. Has matte appearance. Thickness is usually .006”-.012”. Conforms to ASTM D7803.
